To serve our nation for 50 years, a U.S. Navy aircraft carrier must be refueled and modernized at 25 years. Investing in less than 1 percent of the defense budget in Refueling and Complex Overhaul (RCOH) provides a 50-year service life to project power and strength around the globe.
USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72) is currently undergoing its RCOH that will allow the ship to continue service for another quarter century. Recently, Abraham Lincoln achieved a RCOH milestone when the ship’s arresting gear engines were reinstalled.
“The reinstallation of our number three and four arresting gear engines marks a major milestone in Lincoln’srefueling and complex overhauland eventual return to operational service,” said Cmdr. Christopher Martinez, Lincoln’s Assistant Air Boss.
