USS Stennis a day away from homecoming

Tomorrow, Navy families across the country will have something to celebrate — USS John C. Stennis (CVN-74) is coming home.

Currently enroute to its homeport, Bremerton, WA, the Stennis has been deployed the past seven months to the Middle East and Western Pacific during which it launched planes into Afghanistan and Iraq; made global headlines when it rescued Iranian fishermen from Somali pirates; flew the the Navy’s final flight in the Iraq war; and passed through the Strait of Hormuz just as Iran was threatening to shut it down.

We don’t know about you, but we’re sure excited that the Stennis is hours away from being safely home.

*If you’re in WA and you see the Stennis, or you’re part of its current Tiger cruise or homecoming be sure to take pictures and tweet them to us to share here on Tumblr: @ACIBC.
